Dear Friends:

Here is my Easter issue of Colleagues List.

I hope you find at least some parts of it helpful to your faith journey.

Last week I expressed some concern here that my eyesight was still in process of complete healing and my computer technical work was also developing. Thanks to those who expressed concern and encouragement. I find these words from many of you to be very satisfying and they keep me going!

Wayne

My Thoughts For Easter 2021

I completed my reflection on Easter last year with the words - "there will always be stages of doubt as well as conviction" about the resurrection of Jesus. The early members of the Christ community in Jerusalem were not prepared for the news that He had risen and tended to disbelieve the first of them (mainly women) to say that they had seen him alive.

This story should make us more patient with modern doubters. Those early Jesus supporters needed time to work through all the deep feelings that had accumulated. Many today may want to believe but are just not ready to do so.

I am grateful that my faith has matured to the point where it is possible to accept the resurrection miracle - doubts and all. But my journey is still in process and I can never claim certainty this side of eternity.

Thank God for a community of fellow-believers who can help me on my way!

WISDOM OF THE WEEK

Provided by Sojourners and the Bruderhof online:

When Jesus washed the feet of his disciples ...
he challenged us to get beyond the outward image
and honor souls in acts of human fellowship.

- Rebecca Dudley

--

If you read the life of great men and women who made                                important changes in history, there are two common features:
One, they were angry at the state of affairs and,                                          two, they were people of faith.

- Leymah Gbowee

--

Lord, grant us, in all our doubts and uncertainties,                                        the longing and faith to draw near to you.
Let your Spirit of wisdom guide our paths.                                                    May our choices bring honor to your name.
